1. Information we may collect
Account and contact information
When you create or manage an account, we may collect information such as your email address, account identifier, profile preferences, default province, home wildlife management unit, preferred weapon, and support communications.
Location information
With your permission, BuckFinder may use precise or approximate location information to show your position on maps, identify nearby wildlife management units, record routes or waypoints, provide local weather and wind information, support navigation, and deliver location-relevant hunting intelligence. Location access can be changed in your device settings.
Hunting and user-created content
Information you choose to create may include saved areas, waypoints, routes, journal entries, notes, photos, property-access requests, reports about map data, and preferences. Some features may allow you to submit images or text to BuckAI for analysis.
Purchases and subscriptions
Apple or Google processes purchases. BuckFinder and its subscription service provider may receive transaction identifiers, entitlement status, product information, trial status, renewal status, and subscription expiration information. We do not receive your complete payment-card details.
Device, diagnostics, and notification information
We may process device identifiers, push-notification tokens, app version, operating system, language, login activity, and technical diagnostics needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
2. How we use information
- Provide maps, weather, hunting intelligence, regulations, saved content, alerts, subscriptions, and support.
- Authenticate accounts and protect the service against misuse.
- Personalize content based on settings and location permissions.
- Process user reports and land-access requests.
- Maintain, debug, and improve BuckFinder.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. Service providers and sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help operate BuckFinder, such as hosting and database providers, mapping providers, weather-data providers, AI providers, subscription and app-store providers, push-notification services, and email-delivery services. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services and are expected to protect it appropriately.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the public, to investigate fraud or security incidents, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.
4. AI features
When you use BuckAI or another AI-assisted feature, the text, images, location context, or hunting conditions you submit may be sent to an AI service provider to generate a response. Do not submit information you do not want processed for that purpose. AI output may be inaccurate and should not replace official regulations, landowner permission, safety judgment, or professional advice.
5. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain account and transaction records, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the integrity of BuckFinder. Retention periods may vary by data type. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that no longer identifies you.
6. Your choices and account deletion
You can manage location, photo, and notification permissions in your device settings and adjust notification preferences within BuckFinder. You can request account deletion using Profile → Delete Account in the app or by contacting buckfinderai@gmail.com. Deletion may not remove information we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or transaction-record purposes.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
8. Children
BuckFinder is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
9. International processing
Service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, or other jurisdictions where they operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those in your province or country.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as BuckFinder changes. The effective date above will be revised when material updates are made. Where required, we will provide additional notice.
